I’ve heard a lot of good and bad things about Ferran Adria’s, The Family Meal, but I’ve learned a long time ago that mine is the only opinion that counts

Pierre Herme Macarons Book Review + Herme for Dummies
by Heavenly Housewife on 29. Sep, 2011 in Herme for Housewives, Macarons, baking, celebrity chef, cookbooks
The English edition of Pierre Herme’s Macarons book is finally out. I’m going to give you the dirt, is it worth all the hype? Also, I am including my own recipe, it’s a bit of a Pierre Herme for Dummies treat that I have whipped up. There are no Ispahan croissants to be had outside of Paris, so what about some Ispahan Pop Tarts?

Ottolenghi Apple and Olive Oil Cake with Maple Cream Cheese Frosting
by Heavenly Housewife on 27. Apr, 2010 in Cake, cookbooks, desert
Okay, I do realise that I’ve been going a little Ottolenghi mad on my blog of late but… Oh. My. God. This cake is gooooooood. It tasted fabulous in the restaurant, and it tasted fabulous when I made it at home using their cook book. I am going to go out on a limb here and say that I think this might be the best thing I’ve ever made!
Ottolenghi White Chocolate Blueberry Cookies
by Heavenly Housewife on 20. Apr, 2010 in Cookies, baking, cookbooks
All this talk of Ottolenghi in my last post has me dreaming of going back. Instead, Since I live too far away (maybe that’s a blessing in disguise), I thought I’d try these white chocolate and blueberry cookies from Ottolenghi’s cook book. In the book, they are made with cranberries, but the author suggests dried blueberries as an alternative. Yeah, I took the blueberry option cause I’m a rebel!
