Friday Night Fab

They say immitation is the sincerest form of flattery, so I know Maggi from Just add Glitter and Stir will not be offended by my little copycat of her “Friday Night Fab” posts. It’s just a random pick of five things I’m loving at the moment that I’d like to share with you.

1. Estee Lauder’s Youth Dew bath oil: As a little girl, I thought this stuff smelled of old lady. Well, someone send me some prunes (which I now like too LOL) and some adult diapers (no, I haven’t taken to those yet LOL), because these days, I am totally loving the scent. It is strong and spicy and super sexy in my book. To me, it smells of Coca Cola, cinnamon, and chocolate with a bit of spice thrown in. Funny though, I checked out what exactly that fragrance is layered with and l am waaaaaaaaaaaay off. All I can tell you is that it makes me feel like Cleopatra. After drying off, the scent lingers on your skin, and I find it just delicious! The bath oil also doubles as a perfume, which is totally cool. It is actually the first fragrance that Estee Lauder ever launched (in 1953), and it remains a classic for a reason.

2. Dough balls with Nutella at Pizza Express: Like I’ve mentioned before, I live  in the middle of nowhere, so there is not much in the way of restaurants here. Most of the time, when Hubbs and I want a treat, we go to Pizza Express (a massive UK pizza chain restaurant), although that’s still a good 15 minute drive. Pizza Express just added this desert to their menu, pizza dough balls with Nutella. Such a simple concept if you think about it, but sooooooooooooooo damned good. I almost forgot how much I loved Nutella. Now that they have that on their menu, I’ve been going a lot more often, and I’ve also bought a nice big jar of the stuff last week. But actually, I really want this supersize version! This is one for my wish list (Mr P, I do hope you are taking notes dearest).

3: The thought that Spring is around the corner:  Spring officially starts on March 21st, and if anyone is ready for the end of winter it is totally me. I long to pack away my heavy winter coat and start using the beautiful new lightweight Barbour jacket that Hubbykins got me last week. It’s a special limited edition one that is petty much sold out in most places (mais oui). I got to say, I look mega fab in it. I also want to try growing some fruits and/ or veggies in my garden. I have always wanted to grow a beautiful rainbow of heirloom tomatoes. How awesome would that be, if I was successful?  I’ve tried in the past, but for some reason my tomatoes never turned red, which totally sucked. Most of all, I just want to enjoy a bit of sunshine. There is nothing that starts a day right for me better than waking up with the sun shining. You can always tell when Spring is on it’s way here in England because the daffodils start poking their yellow faces out of the ground. It is always such a welcome sight to me. Walking home today, I did see some. Oh, Springtime, hurry up already!

4. Afternoon tea at the Connaught Hotel, London: Not that long ago, I was browsing different afternoon teas on the internet (as I do) and checked out my favourite afternoon tea place of all time, the one at the Espelette at the Connaught Hotel. I noticed that they updated the menu for the “Chic and Shock” afternoon tea since the last time I was there for my birthday, and now guess who is going in two weeks time? This little piggy WILL got to the tea party. Now that I have my booking, I am so excited *squeaaaaaaaaaaaaal* (or should I say “oink”?)!  In my book, this is the best of the best, and the only place that deserves a 10/10 when it comes to afternoon tea. I can not recommend it highly enough to any of you planning to visit London.  I have visions of little deserts and fatty scones dancing around my little pea brain. I am positively delirious with anticipation.  I can not wait to get my tea on! Bring on the elasticated pants!

5. Another thing that I think is fabulous? Well, in the words of my dear friend and colleague  (yeah, did you know he is a foodie and amateur chef?) Charlie Sheen, “duh… winning.” Okay, so the guy is a complete freaky doo, but who isn’t? I love it that he can make fun of himself despite all his troubles. Anyways, I digress… I am so happy to announce the winner of my Amazon giveaway. First of all though, I’d like to thank all of you who participated.  I have the most fabulous readers on the blogosphere, that is a fact! But of course, there could be only one winner, and that my dears, is the beautiful Barbra from Moveable Feasts! Barbara dear, there’s an $80 Amazon.com gift card coming your way :D . (P.S. Barbara is one super classy chicklet who I admire a lot, and I in no way associate her with Charlie Sheen LOL, just need to make that clear *mwah*).

WinnerCongrats Barbara!!!!

So tell me daaaaaahlings, what are you loving at the moment? Time to share with the class!

I love your 5 picks and those pizza dough balls filled with Nutella made me drool. I haven’t seen them anywhere on the menu but it got me thinking. Maybe I’ll do some kneading these days :)
Hope you’re having a wonderful time, enjoying the Spring weather
