If any item of food deserved its own week, it’s definitely chocolate! Here in the UK, October 11-17 is chocolate week. So, if you feel an excuse to pack on some blubber, this might be it daaaaahlings. In honour of this very special week, I thought I’d share my favourite chocolate in the whole wide world with you. Well… okay, I’m not actually going to “share” my favourite chocolate… white chocolate cardamom bars from Rococo are things which you’d have to pry from my cold dead hands, thank you very much. What I meant was, I thought I’d tell you about it. Oh. My. God. Seriously, if you love white chocolate, this will be your kryptonite. It just melts in your mouth. It’s so sweet and gently spicy at the same time. If you follow this blog regularly you might notice my liberal usage of cardamom in my cooking and baking. It’s my favourite spice, so when paired with such delicious chocolate, you know the results are going to be incredible. Believe me when I tell you that I have tried a lot of fancy pants chocolates in my time, but none even come close to this. I just can’t get enough.
Look, but don’t touch (it’s mine).
Recently I visited Rococo’s flagship store on London’s Belgravia. I got there just when the store opened. Piggy snout against the window I subliminally chanted “open, open, open …”, I guess the sales girl felt bad for me and let me in
(I don’t care what I have to do when treats are involved, I’m shameless!). As usual, Mr P let me have the run of the goodies, and I filled up my basket with lovely stuff. I had to stock up, because unfortunately, outside of London, the white chocolate cardamom bar isn’t that easy to come by. The sales girl was sooo nice and she kept giving us little samples. “Yes, daaaahling” I thought to myself, “bring on the samples. Bring the chocolates to uber gorgeous housewife!” I was super happy. I’m not that hard to please really… no, really!
Once my Rococo spree was finished we visited the store’s very special Moroccan inspired garden in the back. How cool is that? Mr P and I drank some hot chocolate and ate these cute little coconut confections that were filled with chocolate (lovely).
This outdoor space is called the Marococo Garden, and I’ve seen it featured in several magazines in the last couple of years, but this was my first time visiting. According the wrapper that my yummy chocolate bar is wrapped in, “the garden has many of the plants which are used as flavours in the bars; rose, jasmine, geranium, mint and lavender.” The tiles in the garden are the inspiration behind the wrappers of their beautiful bars:
Although a visit to London is always loads of fun, there are times, for me, when things are a little too fast paced and congested. There are moments that can seem a bit overwhelming. For that reason, I find these sort of places real gems. And hey, a gem with awesome chocolate… well, that’s about as awesome as it gets LOL.
So if you are in London, do stop by for a cup of hot chocolate and some delicious treats. And if you see an incredibly gorgeous housewife eating a white chocolate cardamom bar, blow me a kiss daaaaaahling!
Now that I’ve “shared” my favourite chocolate with you, I’d love to know what your favourite chocolate is. Is it something cheap and cheerful, or opulent and artisanal? It’s show and tell time.
p.s. I was not bribed by any free chocolates to write this post, but that doesn’t mean I won’t accept free gifts Rococo people… (you see, I told you… positively shameless).

Yum! Gorgeous little Moroccan courtyard and treat! Chocolate. Mmmmm. Sadly I cannot eat white chocolate – more for you, dahling – because I overloaded once when I was 14 years old and can’t look at another white chocolate bar without feeling slightly nauseous. We have maybe the best handmade chocolates in the world here – Debotté – and I splurge and buy the husband and I a box once a year or so. One or two chocolates with our evening glass of wine is heaven! I also offer it as gifts.
That little oasis definitely looks like a lovely spot to enjoy a snack!
Beautiful! I have to check out this place next time!
What a lovely outdoor area! It sure is easy to imagine myself indulging in some of those chocolate treats. Oh, and my favorite chocolate would have to be the dark kind…anything above 70%.
The chocolate looks wonderful and sounds amazing. I love the courtyard – who would have thought they had this hidden gem. We are starved of fabulous chocolate where I live!!!
Happy chocolate week, daaahling! How generous of you to share your favorite chocolate. I adore white chocolate as well and my go-to bar is Purdy’s white chocolate bar (although it’s impossible to come by in the US).
And I love surprise little gardens in big cities, such a calm serene environment to pig out!
Oh my stars, those gorgeous and gorgeously flavored chocolate bars are calling my name. What wonderful combinations! And that garden is just dreamy. I want to go to there … now!
xoxoxoxo
Nothing wrong in sending a hint in the right direction…especially after such a well written review of an absolutely charming place.
I’d sit there with a great cup of coffee followed by a fab piece of chocolate to smoothen things out.
One of my very favourite flavours is ‘fleur de sel’ caramel coated with bittersweet chocolate.
Thanks for sharing such a pleasurable gem in London.
Flavourful wishes,
Claudia
