Of course, I plan to work very hard this year…
Happy New Years my daaaaaahlings! Can you believe it? It’s not only a new year, but a new decade! I always wonder what the new decade will be famous for. I am not one for making New Years resolutions, but for the purpose of my blog, I thought I’d share some things which I would like this year.
1. Lots of fun times with Mr P.
2. Initiate world domination through my blog. I just have to figure out how to get that mind control widget to work.
3. Be able to make Laduree quality macarons.
4. Achieve super slim thighs.
5. New giant uber bag to make slim thighs look even slimmer.
Anyway, I was doing some research on foods traditionally eaten to celebrate New Years. There is just so much variation. Different cultures and religions celebrate their new year on a different days, and they all seem to celebrate with different foods. One custom which I am particularly fond of is the Jewish practice of celebrating the coming of the new year with something sweet. It is common practice for them to dip pieces of apple in honey, in order to symbolize a sweet year ahead. I much prefer this to the custom of the American South where they like to eat black eyed beans LOL (to symbolize prosperity). Because, I can tell you now, this housewife has no intention of eating any horrid beans
(unless they are jelly beans).
Wether you are celebrating your New Years this week or not, I wish you all oodles of happiness and good health.
So, have you made any resolutions this year? Got any fab New Years Plans? I want to know
.
Happy 2010 daaaaaaahlings!
*kisses* and love from Heavenly Housewife
p.s. stay tuned for the next blog which will include a honey inspired New Years recipe.
