I have been tagged by the lovely Moonspinner over at Dustjacket Attic to list 6 unimportant things that make me happy. But everything that makes us happy is important, right? Its been a bit of a tough week for Moi, so sometimes being reminded of the good stuff is just what a girl needs! That, and some delicious macaroons.
1. Warm weather: I love being nice and toasty. When its freezing I don’t feel like doing anything. Winter here in England is a real trial for me. It also wreaks havoc on my skin. But alas, I married Mr. Persnickety, and one of us had to move. The things a girl does for love, eh?
2. Scones with strawberry jam, clotted cream and tea (aka: cream tea): Ah, now this was kind of a revelation! Who knew there was something in England that I could find so magical (aside from Hubby of course).
4. Baking: I think baking is just the coolest. I mean, you put a bunch of mystery mush in the oven and it comes out as something to eat. Its fun, delicious, and it will impress your friends! Its magic!
5. Harrods: How does one expound on something so fantastic? Where in the world can you feast on Laduree macaroons while trying on couture (okay, yeah, maybe Paris)? Harrods is the Heavenly Housewife’s playground. If its fabulous, its at Harrods. They even sell pets! If Hubby ever needs to be replaced, I am going to buy myself a cute little Harrods monkey. I’m going to call him Boe Boe.
6. Bed time: You may have seen it mentioned before that I love it when Hubby tucks me in. Yes, I know, how old am I? I am definitely a big and high maintenance baby. But there is nothing more comforting than getting into a nice comfy bed at the end of the day (be it a good day or a bad one) and knowing that tomorrow is a clean slate full of possibilities.
