Confection Perfection at Laduree

Laduree Pistachio Macaroons:
Official snack of the Heavenly Housewife

There once was a time when it was traditional for a man to present his girly with flowers and chocolates. I know men still give flowers, but those lovely boxes of chocolates don’t seem to come around with much frequency. I hate to sound really mean and horrid, but in England, when you do see a box of chocolates, its usually the cheap kind that someone buys in drugstore or supermarket. What ever happened with the love of all things expensive and French? I am talking about French perfumes, couture, silky unmentionables, and most importantly: macaroons.

French macaroons from Laduree are a culinary wonder! There is something so delicate and feminine about them. My favourite flavour, without a doubt, is the pistachio. I can’t exactly put my finger on it, but the taste is just so magical and fresh. It is surely one of the most delicious things I have ever eaten. Whenever I get the opportunity, I buy one of their ever so beautiful boxes of loveliness. Judging by the packaging, you would imagine that there is something very precious inside. Something like a diamond bracelet perhaps. Ah, now that would be romantic wouldn’t it? A box of macaroons with a diamond bracelet in it (take note Hubby).

Laduree pistachio macaroons are, to me, the height of girly confection perfection. I know that there aren’t to many Ladurees around, but if you ever get a chance to try one, do! (There was talk that one would be opening in NY, but I don’t know if this is actually the case.)

Hubbykins dearest, if you are reading this, please stop reading here *smooches*.

Forget the flowers, forget the chocolate. If a man wants to please me (yes, I am married, but I still accept gifts), give me a giant box of Laduree’s pistachio macaroons, and you may be next on line to become the next Mr. Persnickety. Oh, and box size does matter!
