These days you can’t go without hearing about what a terrible state the economy is in… blah, blah, blah. Its so boring and depressing. The sky is falling and all that good stuff. So thats why this lovely confection leaves me a bit baffled. I was in Harrods the other day and I see this beautiful cake made to look like a cupcake covered in fruit and surrounded by scoops of ice cream with a butterfly on it (click on picture for a full size version). Cool right? Very whimsical indeed. I mean, Harrods always has the most lovely things.
But whoa… hold those horses. Am I reading that price tag right £4,999 ($7,150)!!?? I am always curious, who buys this stuff? I mean, I love cake as much as the next housewife, but really!
